From The Society of Cosmetic Scientists
Course Overview
The Principles and Practice of Cosmetic Science (PPCS) course is a long-established course which has this year been revised to incorporate advances in the cosmetic and personal care sector and to better reflect changes to working practices over the last few years.
Now taking place in a hybrid format with nine weeks of online individual and team working sessions culminating in a residential weekend, it offers an unrivalled opportunity to work with others from across the industry, practising and building team working skills, in both a remote and face-to-face setting.
Using work-based simulations, the 9-week course provides delegates with a safe space to practice different roles and leadership skills within a project team. The course is particularly suitable for scientists who have been working in the cosmetics industry and the allied supply and support industries for a few years and are looking to move into more managerial or supervisory roles, primarily, but not exclusively, in the scientific functions. It is also suitable for the more mature manager requiring updated information on the technologies associated with the development of personal care products or sudden and speedy immersion into a new field of expertise. A degree in a science subject is preferred, although other qualifications/experience will be considered.
The residential element of this year’s course will take place over the weekend of 22nd – 24th March 2024, and some webinars and online tutorials before the weekend will be live, so availability will be required in the nine weeks preceding this. Most lectures are available on demand, and there will be the opportunity for flexible working within the groups.
